Diary of a mother NOT in Austria

Today is day 42 AJ - that is after Jacklyn left for Austria. Sad but at the same time I am happy for her. Today i posted Lola, her stuffed rabbit, a Cherry Ripe, an Australian flag and some little koala bears for her friends at school - all up $53 so expensive! Jackie is off to Prague on Sunday or Monday with her friend Maxi who lives in Beligium. Hoping to secure our flights very soon...

Week 10 - Mashed potato ... mashups

I really loved the mashups - Voicethread was great! As the blog stated, these would be very useful in a local history digitised collection.

Week 9 - podcasts and audio

Podcasts are great tools and would be very useful in libraries. I would love to include this application in the annual report (online version). Isn't technology great!

Week 6 - video etc.

Tried uploading the following YouTube video "No Cookies in the Library" but an error message kept appearing saying that the file could not be uploaded. Embedding video into blogs is a useful tool that could be of great use especially for training purposes.

Group work is good! Got some help from a fellow web 2.0 trainee and now the You Tube feed is working well.

Week 8 - Answer boards and social searching

Loved the librarian question and answer board. Great to see librarians are providing the most useful answers in light of the way in which people tend to view technology as the answer to all. I found the question and answer board would be extremely useful in so many different applications, especially where users wish to remain anonymous.

Week 7 - Tagging folk songs no really folksonomies...

Had a bit of trouble due to the fact that we are working externally. I think that I will have to revisit this section of the training from work and re-post.

Week 5 - Wikis

This part of the tutorial deals with wikis which are more interactive and collaborative than blogs appear to be. The RRL Wiki has been extremely useful in resource sharing - especially for photos and useful information services resources.
