Week 4 - RSS feeds

RSS feeds are such a valuable add-on to a blog page. Feeds provide a great way to keep in touch with what is going on with world events. Unfortunately, the bloglines site was blocked during the training session. Will post later when access is granted.

Week 3 - Flickr

Great photo of Tasmanian waterfall! Love Flickr!
Would love to travel through Tasmania - know someone who based their whole Tasmania trip around waterfalls - amazing!

Week 3 Explore Flickr

Flickr is great! Would love to be able to take photos as lovely as the ones i viewed. Flickr is a very useful tool for libraries, especially in relation to photographic history - eg Wagga Wagga area. This may open up better use of digitised regional images - especially for genealogy enthusiasts.

Blogs and library

I have begun the web 2.0 State Library training and have found that the set up and style of the site is straight forward and easy to use. The training will be useful in assisting me in setting up blogs and for using them in library settings - it is also very useful for my library course as blogs and wikis are used frequently to complete work in collaboration with other students. I am looking forward to the remainder of the course content and hope to become a confident blogger by the end of the training.

May 2009

Two birthdays in May so we've been very busy!

What's coming up?

Davo is busy working on the downstairs bedroom - looks good! I am undertaking the web 2.0 training in a group setting which seems to be working better for me as I have a set block of time to work on the tasks.
